Pleasanton to San Ramon

An Office Move with an Added E-Waste Request

Ontrack Moving® handled an office relocation from Pleasanton to San Ramon. After work began, the client added e-waste removal. We collected the designated hard drives, arranged their destruction and sent the client a Certificate of Destruction.

Project at a Glance

  • The move: an office relocation within the East Bay.
  • The original plan: preparation, retained furniture and cubicle relocation, reassembly and office clear-out.
  • The added work: e-waste removal and arranged destruction of designated hard drives.
  • The documentation: a Certificate of Destruction emailed to the client.

The Office Move and Clear-Out

The client was moving selected office contents to the new location and leaving other items behind for removal. The moving plan separated preparation, transport, furniture placement and cubicle reassembly from disposal work.

The proposed schedule also distinguished work inside the offices from moving between buildings, with preparation during regular business hours and after-hours relocation windows. Those details matter when planning which work can happen while a building is occupied.

For an office move with retained furniture and a clear-out, our commercial moving services are the starting point. The office relocation planning guide explains how to think through the phases.

E-Waste Removal Added During the Move

The e-waste request came after the relocation had started. It was an addition to the original moving scope, alongside the office contents already scheduled for relocation or removal.

Ontrack handled that added removal, collected the designated hard drives and arranged their destruction. This gave the client a way to address the retired equipment during the same project.

Hard-Drive Destruction and the Certificate

Ontrack arranged destruction of the designated hard drives and emailed the Certificate of Destruction to the client for their records.

If your office clear-out includes retired computers or drives, discuss the equipment and documentation you need when defining the scope. See our hard-drive destruction and Certificate of Destruction service.

What This Project Shows

The completed project brought an office relocation and an added e-waste request together. Ontrack handled the move, arranged destruction of the designated hard drives and followed up with the certificate. The case shows a practical extension of a commercial move: dealing with equipment the client no longer needed as well as moving the contents it was keeping.

Case Study: A San Francisco Office Move and Decommission for Aravo Solutions

A real commercial project, named with the client's permission. Ontrack Moving relocated Aravo Solutions from the 12th floor of 88 Kearny Street into a WeWork suite at 580 California Street, two downtown Class A towers both managed by JLL, and ran the move, the decommission, warehouse storage of a set of desks, and a shipment to Texas as one project. How it ran: certificates of insurance, waivers of subrogation, and indemnity agreements cleared at both buildings before move day; an after-hours and weekend window the buildings required; a preparation day to take down wall-mounted TVs and cabinets and break down the cubicles; office layout mapping and a labeling system; reusable E-crates; two SFMTA permits; the freight-elevator funnel that set the pace; responsible recycling; and e-waste handling with certificates of destruction for the hard drives.

Case Study: A Warehouse and Office Relocation That Kept the Inventory in Order

A real commercial project, anonymized. A Bay Area company with a working parts warehouse needed to relocate from the South Bay to the East Bay without losing the order of its inventory or shutting the operation down. How Ontrack Moving ran it: hundreds of numbered parts kept grouped and in sequence on machine carts, library carts, panel carts, and speed-packs; the option to move the inventory on its own equipment instead of boxing everything; trucks loaded for order rather than maximum volume; most desks and all cubicles left in place; and a phased schedule planned to limit disruption to the business.
