How much does it cost to move from San Francisco to Phoenix?

As of July 2026, Ontrack Moving® moves households from San Francisco to Phoenix at a flat rate priced by the number of trucks the move requires, based on inventory volume, distance (about 750 miles via I-5 and I-10), packing, and access conditions, with transit typically about 3 days. Because Ontrack Moving® is a direct asset-based carrier (USDOT #2551548) and not a broker, each long-distance move is an exclusive, dedicated relocation with no load consolidation and no subcontractor handoffs. The flat-rate quote covers the inventory and services in your estimate rather than billed by the hour as a local move would be. Final charges will be based on the actual inventory and services at pickup, access conditions, scope changes, waiting time, and any additional services requested or required to complete the move.

Ontrack Moving® holds interstate operating authority MC #889001 and California household goods license CAL-T190721 alongside USDOT #2551548, and each of those is checkable before you book rather than after. Ontrack Moving® maintains a DOT inspection record that exceeds the national average under FMCSA inspection. The $10,000,000 Combined Protection Tower covers building structures and the premises, not the contents of the shipment; belongings carry standard $0.60/lb cargo liability per article. Look up USDOT 2551548 on the FMCSA SAFER database to confirm the record yourself.

Why Ontrack for California to Arizona Moves?

Many interstate moving companies are brokers who sell the move to another carrier, and the shipment may be transferred between carriers or warehouses.

Ontrack is different. We're a moving company with physical operations in both the San Francisco Bay Area and Phoenix Metro. Our crews are based at our Hayward and Peoria yards and run both Bay Area to Phoenix moves and Phoenix to San Francisco return moves. Same company, same standards, one point of accountability. This route is part of our California to Arizona corridor. View all Arizona moving services.

Our SF crews know how to navigate steep hills, SFMTA permits, and high-rise freight elevators. Our Phoenix crews know Arizona heat, HOA rules, and desert community logistics. Clear expectations across both markets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about SF to Phoenix moves

How do I get a quote for my SF to Phoenix move?

Ontrack Moving® prices San Francisco to Phoenix moves as flat-rate interstate jobs rather than by the hour. Request a free quote online or call (888) 914-8787. We provide flat-rate pricing (not hourly) that includes loading, transport, and unloading. Your quote is based on your inventory, packing needs, and move timing.

How long does the move take?

Ontrack Moving® treats delivery windows as targets, not guarantees. The drive is approximately 750 miles, taking 11-12 hours. With loading and unloading, most moves complete in about 3 days. We offer flexible delivery windows to accommodate your schedule.

Why choose Ontrack over other interstate movers?

Ontrack Moving® runs its own yards in Hayward and Peoria. Many interstate moving companies are brokers who sell the move to another carrier. With Ontrack, you get our own crews, our own trucks, direct service, no middlemen.

Is Ontrack licensed for interstate moves?

Yes. Ontrack Moving® holds USDOT #2551548 authorizing interstate transport and California License CAL-T190721. $0.60/lb basic liability is included with every move, with additional valuation protection available.

Can you store my belongings during the move?

Yes. Ontrack Moving® has storage facilities at both our Hayward (Bay Area) and Peoria (Phoenix) locations. Secure storage at Hayward, climate-controlled storage at Peoria.

How can I verify that Ontrack Moving is a real carrier and not a broker?

Ontrack Moving® operates under USDOT #2551548 and the federal record is public. Enter USDOT 2551548 at the FMCSA SAFER database. You will see our DOT inspection record that exceeds the national average, active insurance, and carrier authority. Brokers cannot produce this record because they do not operate trucks. It takes 30 seconds to verify.

Why does it matter if my San Francisco to Phoenix mover is a carrier or broker?

Ontrack Moving® is an asset-based carrier, not a broker. On the 750-mile SF to Phoenix corridor, a broker sells your move to another carrier, and your belongings may wait for a full truck. A carrier like Ontrack loads a dedicated truck in San Francisco and drives directly to Phoenix, arriving on the third day, with Ontrack employees, no broker handoffs.

How far in advance should I book a San Francisco to Phoenix move?

Ontrack Moving® recommends booking 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Call (888) 914-8787 to reserve your date.

CA to AZ move, professional and delightful

Every moment with OnTrack for our CA to AZ move was professional and delightful, from the in-person estimate, to the communication leading up to the big day, to the professional, kind, and detail-oriented team led by Eduardo. They treated our furniture, art and goods as if it were their own, wrapping everything carefully and then assembling for us in our new home. I couldn't recommend them more.

Moving near Phoenix, ask for James

James is the guy! If you're moving anywhere near Phoenix you want to ask for James. I can't say enough about his work. He wrapped just about everything and explained what he was doing and why. James could give a clinic on how you should be moved. Hard worker and his coworker Jaire were a good team. Very professional and efficient. Thank you James!

Loaded in California, set up in Phoenix

Eduardo’s teams were awesome - They arrived Tuesday morning in San Jose, CA & It’s now Thursday at Noon and we’re all set up in Phoenix, AZ. They took good care of our stuff, helped pack some fragile bulky items and everything made it safe and sound.

Rare customer service in the Bay Area

Ontrack's customer service is unparalleled and quite honestly it's quite rare to find in the bay area. Hugo, Domingo and Daniel... handled all of our requirements which included packing, loading and reloading at the terminal and some garbage hauling too, all on short notice. I don't know of any company that can do all of those things. Their prices are reasonable and they are efficient, so every minute is well-spent.

Direct drive, 6-person crew, one damaged item in entire move

On the day of our move a 6 person crew showed up with Jonathan Andres as supervisor. They got everything loaded in one day despite having to use a shuttle to get from the house to the van on the street. We hired them for direct drive and they showed up on time the arrival day with 3 guys and Jonathan as supervisor again. Everything was unloaded, unpacked and moved into the house in 5 hours... With all the packing, shuttling, loading, unloading, unpacking and move in we had only one damaged item. A foot was broken off a storage bench but that was fixed in 10 minutes. Great job done by all.
