Which parts of North Phoenix does each ZIP code cover?

ZIP codes and the City's villages do not line up neatly, so a ZIP code alone does not tell you which village you are in. We compared the Census Bureau's ZIP code areas with the City of Phoenix village boundaries in October 2026. Villages are listed from the largest share of each ZIP to the smallest.

Phoenix ZIPCity of Phoenix village(s)Housing the City's village pages describe
85024Deer Valley, Desert View, Paradise Valley villageDeer Valley: a variety of housing types near employment centers. Desert View: condos and master planned communities along Loop 101, large-lot homes further north.

85085Desert View, North Gateway, Deer ValleyDesert View: condos and master planned communities along Loop 101, large-lot homes further north. North Gateway: master planned communities, washes, open Sonoran Desert.

The third column is the City's description of each whole village, not of the ZIP code. Your street may look different.

"Paradise Valley village" is one of Phoenix's own planning villages, not the separate Town of Paradise Valley, which has its own Paradise Valley movers page.

How does the housing change from Deer Valley to North Gateway?

The housing changes from one end of North Phoenix to the other, and so does the move. The City describes Desert View as running from an urban core along the Loop 101 freeway, in and around the Desert Ridge area, with condominiums and master planned communities, out to equestrian ranch properties and large-lot homes further north. Deer Valley mixes a variety of housing types with large employment centers, commerce and industrial land, and Phoenix Deer Valley Airport. The City describes North Gateway as the northern gateway into Phoenix, with master planned communities, scenic washes, trails and open Sonoran Desert.

Those are three different kinds of move. A condo near Desert Ridge may involve elevators, loading areas and building move windows. A home in a master planned community may come with an HOA that sets move rules, gate access or certificate of insurance requirements. On a large-lot or ranch property further north, the questions are where the truck can stand and how far the carry runs, so mention the driveway, gates and any tight turns before the estimate.

Out on the street, the City sets one rule. City Code section 36-140 keeps trucks over three-quarter-ton rated chassis capacity from standing or parking on residential streets, except during loading or unloading. That exception covers loading and unloading, not leaving the truck on the street overnight, and HOA rules sit on top of it.

In what order should a North Phoenix move come together?

Paperwork your community controls first, then the calendar, then the truck.

1. Show us the house, in person or on video

Walk us through the rooms, the stairs, the garage and the driveway. Before you book, your written estimate sets out the crew size, the billing method and what the price includes.

2. Collect the community paperwork

From the association or property manager at each address, old and new: permitted move hours, gate or guard instructions, any elevator booking, and the certificate of insurance wording they want. Forward it to us when you book.

3. Check the season

For summer and monsoon timing, see our Phoenix movers summer planning section.

4. Move day

A foreman supervises the crew. Standard protection includes Neoprene runners on floors, Masonite boards over tile and marble entries, padded corner guards on doorways and wraps on banisters. Furniture is pad-wrapped and upholstery shrink-wrapped, and anything taken apart for the truck is put back together at the new address.

The crew size is set in your written estimate. Packing materials are billed separately from the hourly rate. What a home move includes, from packing to storage, is set out on our residential moving page.

What should you find out about your North Phoenix address before booking?

Most of what shapes a move here is set by the property, not by the mover. These are the questions to put to your HOA, your building or yourself, then pass along to us.

  • Is there a gate or a guard, and how does a moving truck get through it? Ask the association or management office for both addresses, and whether the truck needs to be on a list ahead of time.
  • In a Desert Ridge condo, does the building want an elevator booking or a set move window? The property manager has the answer. Tell us about elevator reservations, building move windows and stair carries at the estimate.
  • On a large lot, where can the truck stand, and how long is the walk to the front door? On a large lot or a gated street this can change the crew size and the hours.
  • Does the association need a certificate of insurance, and in whose name? Get the exact wording from the HOA and send it to us before move day.
  • Do the HOA's move hours match the day you have in mind? Check both the old and the new community, since their rules can differ.
